  • Dyson - expensively solving problems that don't really exist. I mean who has ever sat in front of a fan on a hot day and been at discomfort by the air being 'chopped'?!

  • I agree, there's truly nothing worse than the discomfort of the air blowing towards me. Thank god Dyson's revolutionary innovation has solved this with their $400 "air multiplier", which costs...$15 to make? Ridiculous!! It's simply a fan underneath which forces air out of the loop on top.

And this removes the issue of cleaning my fan!? Does anyone even do that - well anyway you can't even clean this one; it just gets clogged.

As someone said, solving problems which don't exist.

  • @phototristan Is the air colder with this fan?

  • James Dyson famously created 5127 prototypes of his first vacuum cleaner before he got it right. This is not a fact I would advertise. It translates to 5127 attempts to get it right. What must the first one have looked like? In 5127 incarnations of something, you could turn a flip-flop design into an airliner.

  • Sir James Dyson. The "Steve Jobs" of things that suck and blow.

  • "And then the oscillator is there, so it oscillates around."

  • I have to say that I do agree with the top 2 comments that state that this device is basically useless because it doesn't really solve any important problem. But simply look at the beautiful design of this fan. Even though it is expensive and there are other alternatives the design simply surpasses any other fan design making it much more elegant and modern. It's more like a piece of art then a device for me

  • ??, that was a really shoddy explanation with no real substance. The most convincing point was the environmental thing at the end. Still, it looks pretty cool.

  • To all the people who keep saying he's 'solving problems that don't exist, yes we know. All the guy does is innovate old ideas and make money from it, please stop whining.

  • @69muscat Of course it's not as good as A/C but it's way better than a fan. I paid $130. for mine and it was well worth it.

  • @phototristan Don't tell that if the roon is full of hot air that its going to cool it down like an aircon , because for that price I would get an aircon , not that shit. I can make one of them in my shed , and dickheads are paying $500 , lol good on you Dyson , you found a way to rip the people off and not get in trouble for it , lol very good

  • Safer than a conventional fan? Have you ever put your hand inside the blades of a conventional fan? Those engines are so weak...

I put my hand in the ceiling fan going full blast. Mild discomfort, at best.
