yep. this was a '65 single from Stax. also, Mr. Pickett cowrote it with Steve Cropper, who was the lead guitar in Booker T and the MGs, and cowrote and played session music on MANY Stax songs and albums. Wilson Pickett did eventually do some work with motown, but i don't believe it was until much later. Motown's great and i'm not knocking it but Stax and Memphis don't get all due credit often enough.

I love that motown sound. Too bad black music wasn't still good like that, instead of rap & hip-hop.
