Steve goes over the main features for this APC product. Buys you up to 13 minutes to save work and shut down computer when power outages occur. Item can be found at http://cableorganizer.com/apc/apc-back-ups-es.htm
@MrHockeystick For the price it's pretty good, it doesn't have avr or offer pure sine wave, but since it is apc, I know it will work right and last. I think you would have to spend at least $400 to get a brand new ups that offers pure sine (no matter the brand). Apc is just the golden standard in quality, yeah companies like belkin, tripp lite and cyberpower offer more for less, but they aren't always as reliable and problem free.
Interesting recommendation, the APC ES series is an entry level UPS that protects from power outages, surges and spikes and is a step sine wave output UPS. It protects the load from 3 of the 9 known power problems. I might use this for an non critical desk top or basic home PC, nothing else. There are 3 UPS technologies, in the market, to protect from 3, 5 or all 9 power problems. Real tough to recommend a UPS without knowing what is the equipment being protected. Buy a technology not a brand.
On average, how long is the life of the battery before I have to replace it? Thanks!
