One of the more obscure labels in my collection. This an Australian label which uses what sounds like Plaza masters. It's called Angelus and looks exactly like the Gennett Electrobeam label except for the changing of names. As said, this sounds like a Plaza master, so I suspect this is really Sam Lanin's Orchestra with Scrappy Lambert on the vocals recorded on June 8, 1928. Hope you enjoy it!

  • @VictrolaJazz It's wonderful, isen't it? Sam Lanin was always tops! Send "Old Man Sunshine" over here then! :-)

  • @EdisonSquirrel "Old Man Sunshine" has been away on vacation over here, so I hope he will spend his retirement here in Norway!

  • Very Nice. Thank you for sharing!

  • Just an absolutely great arrangement of this song! I'm one with Edison, 'tho, it's time for Old Man Sunshine to take a hike! Beautiful portable!

  • It's too hot today! It's time for "Old Man Sunshine" to retire and bring back "Old Man Winter." :)
