The HIGHWAY 61..!! New model from Republic Guitars!!!!

Made a fun clip showing the unpacking of the guitar, haha.. Straight out of the box it's perfectly set up and ready to play!! I like that!

Here's a brand new model from Republic Guitars!!!!
(Release December 2009, I was lucky to get hold of one of the pre-production models!!)

This model is called "Highway 61" but did change name since Mr. Winter had decided to endorse this one and make it his own!! It was planned that this one would bear the name BLUESMAN and be endorsed by Johnny Winter, apparently that will not happen now...

Really cool travel size guitar, shorter scale and shorter body..
Looking at it I must say it's most beautiful resonator guitar I have ever seen, truly.. The design is perfected!
The best of both worlds, I love the ribbed coverplates on singlecones and the tricone grilles looks so cool when combined!!

Slightly wider upper bouts compared to the Resolian and Miniolian..
Great tone and looks!!!!

This is the first time I've ever seen and played this little one, takes a while to get used to the shorter scale..
I LOVE IT!!

are he republic cover plates standard (full) size? swappable w/a national hotplate for instance?

They should be, I have no idea if the drilled holes match the pattern on a NRP though..

Always thought to get a reso and these sounds pretty well. And cheap as well.
