A huge BNSF freight train passes Kingman (USA) at speed. The noise from these locos is not like that from the US loco's in the UK! Shame for us in the UK.

  • Yes thats correct, a chance find. If only UK GM's sounded like yours! We are now obsessed in the UK with silencing loco's. Great vids on you own site too!

  • There goes a few hundred trucker loads and money???

  • That's a typical train in the US. Four 4000 HP locos hauling 100 cars.

  • 17,200 horses.

  • Actually, these four units are GE's (USA), with a four-stroke engine that makes a completely different sound. A single turbocharged V-16 that has an unusual slave connecting rod for one bank of cylinders, unlike Alco, EE and Sulzer designs, hence the slightly uneven sound, not unlike a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

  • whats the symbol?

  • I see them load that train in east LA every night
