Steals a copy of SATAN, Dan's remote network security probing tool.

In the course of tracking the attacker(kevin), a great deal of network traffic was captured by a specially modified version of tcpdump (here's information on the legality of the acquisition of this evidence), and then a program written by Tsutomu was used to produce playable logs.

  • What the hell is this? Kevin Mitnick my ass...

Another program will play them back (forwards or backwards) for you, in real-time (or faster, if you choose).

  • The linux terminal has nothing to do with a windows shell. This is not what it looks like. Under your windows shell (command prompt actually, windows doesn't have a shell), you have assembly. Under assembly you have the binary information that the computer can read. Under that binary information you have the electric switches on the system that do everything. In short, you're wrong :D.

As for the video, that most likely isn't Mitnick, he just named the video that so it would get attention.

  • linux/unix is still the best...

  • @jonnyhackercake "Under the windows shell you have assembly", that is some horrible terminology, and extremely misleading.
