  • god bless him best radio DJ ever radio sucks today

  • @partyspecialists Radio sucks today. To me, music isn't exciting, the commercials suck, etc..Dan Ingram, not my favorite, but in the Top 30. He was good though. Real Don Steele, Charlie Greer, Dick Kemp, Jackson Armstrong, Chuck Knapp, Rick Shaw, BMR, Tiger Bob Raleigh (Bill Miller-1966) and a few other ones. If I forgot any others, it's that I am rushed at the moment and don't have the time.

  • I remember staying up late at night to tune in 77 WABC to hear Cousin Brucie. It was lights out in my house around 10 on school nights so the radio was under the blanket with me! No headphones at that point in time! It was great hearing the awesome jocks on all the clear channel 50KW AM stations (not the "Clear Channel Monopoly of today) like WOWO Fort Wayne, WLS Chicago, and WABC! Awesome! That was when radio was king...sadly the music has died.

Radio is dead in the USA....

  • @sniperssg12 I used to listen to WOWO a long while ago...WLW in cincy back in the early to mid 80s for their Hot Wax weekends. When I took my road trip to South Dakota in 2002, we listend to KOMA in OKC, OK.

  • This is from a different time. Radio is so much different today. Very sad!

  • @pictureisup1 Sad, yes, and boring too. I just love those 10 minute commercial sweeps! lol I hate new music anyway, the commercials suck, so why bother listening? I have lots of airchecks here to keep me listening until i leave this planet.

  • I was in third grade back in March of '66. However, I didn't start listening to Top 40 radio until that fall (1966), when WFIL was THE station here in Philadelphia.

  • I used to pick up WABC right here in Philadelphia. That's when radio was worth listening to. Nowadays, radio stinks! The music is terrible, there are too many nationally syndicated radio shows, and there are no radio personalities with personality and a sense of humor. I'm so glad that I grew up during the 60's.

  • Much cooler back then; music, radio, DJs, TV, ads. The intro of the Stones tells it all, excitement!!

  • I wish they can find more tape recordings of the "OLD WINS 1010 Days of 1955 to about 1964.

  • man, I miss this type of AM format so bad. The DJs were as much fun as the music

  • @sniperssg12 Some think a digitized xm/SIRIUS signal is what it is all about. But we AM faithful ( I was in S.Jersey where it would rarely come in at night) and when I went to Wagneron Staten Island in 1964 I was in heaven..Ingram, Morrow,Lundy,Anderson,Greer and so many others. Thanks to Reelradio it's still here!
