  • I wanted to avoid rumbling and still wanted to keep it after the downpipe. many people with cutouts complain of the vibration and noise issues of cutouts around the drivers seat and eventually just either keep it closed or take it off. I was the guinea pig and had it located after the DP and pointed away and more towards the ground - couldn't be happier.

  • +1..the point of the cutout is to have as much less backpressure as possible. I have mine sitted right under me with a turndown,and it isnt bad.

  • The best ting was, like the Jaguar system that came much later, I could cruise around quietly around town until I put my foot down and then it all started to open up.

  • What exactly is the point in these type of cut-outs? The I remember installing a servo onto a Cherry bomb tail pipe that had a variable diffraction control knob. At low revs I made the servo increase the diffraction to improve low end torque and at high revs, above 3000rpm, the controller opened up to allow more gases to escape. Essentially I could use a big bore exhaust without the penalty of losing low-end torque because of the required amount of back pressure at the manifold.
