@evilevilrick I have to agree a tea ball makes more sense. Or you can even just grind your coffee super fine, beyond espresso, and forget straining all together and drink it "turkish" with some grounds in the bottom . After all when you are camping a certain amount of roughing it is to be expected.

@angrykid1219 I didn't know that "truckers brew" was a brand? I have only heard "truckers brew" used in reference to very strong, dark brewed coffee.

@MrBillTroop73 chat store (im in canada) do you think i can get trucker's brew at, i tried it once, and i LOVE it.

@evilevilrick Good idea, and I have tried that, but it just never gets strong enough for me.

I just use a tea ball, put ground coffee in it, put it in my canteen cup full of water on the fire, when its dark enough, it's done.

Life is good when you have a great cup of coffee!
Thanks for your comment.

I just tried this with a funnel and #1 coffee filters, I used a mug from Trexler summer camp (the one piece plastic ones). I poured the water in slow and had a great cup of coffee. It was better than a cup from my coffee maker.
I like the very small, very lightweight, and very cheap cup.
