The red channel shows the calcium dynamics (as recorded using a light field camera) of a zebrafish optic tectum responding to a small dot moving up and down in the fish's anterior field of view, while the green channel shows the response to an identical stimulus shifted to the posterior field of view. In the distinct areas of red and green, we can clearly see the shift in brain response corresponding to the shift in stimulus position. The yellow is the overlap between these channels, signifying neurons which are activated by both stimulus positions. Viewed from a certain angle, the three colors seem to form an Ethiopian flag, which in real-space also contains a depiction of the Lion of Judah, and thereby provides inspiration for the soundtrack (thank you Mr. Marley).
