it comes with a AV in and AV out so just get another AV cable and you can play on your tv and film on your monitor.

Do u play on ur monitor? Or do u just use it to record your saved footage from the game? If u play and record what program u use to capture it from ur screen?

I haven't really delved into all the effects and editing tools it has to offer. I was primarily concerned with its input and output formats because I wanted something versatile. All I have used it so far to do is edit clip lengths and change clip order. The tools are very practical for that. Overall, its a pretty neat system. Hope that helps.
