Is this a deer-type Chihuahua?? We have a deer-type and he is so cute at jumping!

He looks only slightly bigger than our chi (who is 8 pounds). Is it hard to train chis for agility? We want to try to do some of that with ours, but I don't know how to start training him LOL! Any tips? Oh, our chi is on here at SantaFeVigo. He is our funny little man!

Yes, he's a deer head Chihuahua. I thin that's a fault with the AKC. I volunteer with a rescue, and he was my foster dog, but we decided to keep him.

No tips, just go and have fun! They start out gradually and just learn more and more. I had to stop agility because I couldn't afford to keep it up right now, but my hubby built us some jumps, a dog walk, an A-frame, and we were able to buy a cheap chute and a tunnel, so we still get out there and play. A friend of mine does agility with a 4 1/2 lb. Chi, and even Yorkies do it! If you can find a class in your area, go and watch one or two before you try it, just to see what you think.
