  • .... Except for the fact that he talks about the tightening being HIS PREFERENCE. Obviously it works for him because he gets to play some of the most high profile gigs out there. If some new drummer cracks his cymbal because he wants to be like Ray Luzier, that's his problem. I personally usually don't even use wing nuts most of the time to let the cymbal breath but come on, individual style is what makes musicians unique.

  • I've talked to Ray about this...Apparently he's never cracked them being that tight.

  • Brilliant Drummer. Terrible band.

  • its okay having them so tight , if you can afford to buy a hundred more of them

  • Awesome that the dude made a comment about how tight that cymbal is on the stand.... hahahaha

  • To be perfectly honest, I thought this demonstration suffered because of how tight Ray had his cymbal on the stand. It really does make a difference, and in my opinion, not a good one. Hey, he's a great drummer though.

  • 2nd fav

  • @aaronalwines I certainly would never claim to anything close to an expert but I did say MOST sound better loose, not all though, I'm aware of the reasons why he's done it. And its fine to do that if you have the money and so on but its just he doesn't explain thats what he's done he just does it and my point is that too many drummers do it with all their cymbals because they have no idea how to treat them and seeing pros do it without explaining it doesn't help the problem...
