As much as I like this video, it's actually incorrect. In genesis, god created the heavens and the earth before he created light. Yes ladies and gents, he created all of this in the dark!!!

Genesis 1:14, the stars are signs of the seasons, the days, and the years.
Precession of the Equinoxes (the stars appear to fall back 1 degree per 72 years) is caused by the wobble of the earth's axis - the true driver of climate change. Greenhouse gases are the effect, not the cause of global warming.
NOW YOU KNOW THE TRUTH

Because we do not have to believe in the Bible as "literally true" to be Christian. Only Muslims must accept their holy book as the "literal word of God". Only a few extremist sects in the United States preach that about the Bible- the big Christian groups (Roman Catholic, Greek and Russian Orthadox, Eastern Church, Luthern congregations, Anglican Communion etc) who make up the majourity of christians on Earth do not preach that.

Hang on one second... You've just spent your last 2 comments arguing FOR literal interpretation of the bible, and now your arguing AGAINST? seriosuly dude wtf sort out your argument if you even have one. Thisis a quote from you - "USA contains the highest number of Sects who perpetuate the literal interpritation of the Bible... bless 'em... " another quote - "we do not have to believe in the Bible as "literally true"". You seem to swing between arguments.

Another point I would make is if we've got all these terrible faith based organisations/ideologies (that includes nationalism and so on, there just more modes of social control), then why add to the heap with religion? Is the idea of religion not to prevent all these things. And if we do have a being-like creator, then where the hell is he now?

And finally, In the words of George Carlin - "He [God] loves you, and He needs money! He always needs money! He's all-powerful, all-perfect, all-knowing, and all-wise, somehow just can't handle money! Religion takes in billions of dollars, they pay no taxes, and they always need a little more. Now, you talk about a good bullshit story. Holy Shit!"

And I couldn't agree more.

Dude- take religion away and what would happen? People will find OTHER excuses to declare war upon each other. Relkigion is the excuse not the cause. Tell me, is Nationalism a religious cause? Is ALL bigotry and racism religions in origin? Of course not. Stupid people do stupid things. I include the US in those figures btw- USA contains the highest number of Sects who perpetuate the literal interpritation of the Bible... bless 'em...

Metaphoric? The Doctrinal truth of which is dependent on the accuracy of the story in Genesis. If it's a metaphor than so is the fall so why kill Christ over it? Hell, why not have a metaphor of salvation since the fall is a metaphor.

The SPIRITUAL truth of the Bible is never in doubt. And strictly speaking the actual definition of Salvation is the subject of 2,000 years worth of debate. You seem to ignore the fact that smarter, better Christians than either of us have debated, talked, argued, and spent 2,000 plus years developing, refining and disagreeing over the Bible. Read more. Learn the history of your faith. trust me- you have not even began to know it.
