In grade school here on the franglaisian border, before they taught us french full on we had animateur class where we could talk as much as we wanted(in french) and we learned to play the recorder. it was neat. before that when little they sang us kids songs in french one class a week. was neat I think :) nice song Paul

@GoldenFinchFellow those are the three most important subjects in the whole school curriculum: art, music and language (including literature and poetry). these are at the core of the learning process. instead, the United States system is basing it's curriculum on money. they don't want fine upstanding citizens, they want destabilized impulse-buying consumers with, as Hitler once put it, "just enough education to read the road signs" disguised as "no child left behind".

@chuxtrux hi Chuck! yeah, this is cool. no matter how unobtrusive or insignificant, just sitting back and letting something happen is really kind of worth it. It's like searching for what we need. I did that a couple of years back in that Old San Juan hotel room with my YT "Oh Shennendoah" vid sound trak: revealing an immensity hidden beneath the popularizations. There's another curiosity: random variation in tempo. Kind of not-by-the-book. as they say in the South, laugh is full of surprises.
