When the setup CD "checks the connection", it says I already have a router connected and wants to know if I want to replace the router or use them both. Well, I clearly DON'T HAVE a router... just a modem. What can I do to fix this?

@stormchaser34869 I assume your computer is only connected to the Linksys router. This could mean that your router does not have the default password. rest the password on the router by holding down the reset button for 10 seconds and let go. This will erase all configuration on the router and then you should be able to move forward with the install.

Well that helped a lot... but not enough. the router seems to be running fine now, and the modem does too, but I still can't connect to the internet. I checked System Preferences and it says everything is normal. It's like the router is "giving out" the internet. I've already gotten the username, router password, and WPA key set up, so what do I do to connect to the internet?

@stormchaser34869 sorry for the late response. your modem might be a router. make sure the modem is connected to yellow port on WRT, and you PC is connected to one of the blue ports. let me know if you still have issues.

so u know the informational page thing how would u connect say an ipod touch? would u jus scan for the wifi and connect and put the password or do u need to press that button?

i still don't get step 1, where does that cable that plugs into the yellow labled internet plug from? because my current setup (its a linksys but old one) the yellow labled internet cable goes into the wall (a ethernet connection)

how do i change my network name(SSID) after everything was already set up?

is it possible just to use this and not the main router? i don't want wifi being wasted on a modem that i'm not using.

yo when Im installing the router on step 4/4 the router never responds and gives me an error.... it said to check if the connections were right n they were,... the internet n the power light just kept blinking (never did the wireless) After 4 hours of trying to install it, i just gave up

never mind, i got the AirPort Extreme from Apple... ALL of my problems solved - it is truly awesome.
