Rhubarb "Timperly Early", an early rhubarb with narrow stems. Plant with plenty of well rotted manure, do not pick stems till the following year. Remove any fllowering stems that appear.

  • After four years you can harvest most of the leaves for eating. Once it has got too tough or bitter for eating allow the leaves to die back naturally in late autumn then mulch with well rotted manure or other organic matter and leave it alone for next year. To harvest twist and pull the leaves by holding near the base of the stalk rather than cutting. After five years if you want to increase your number of plants lift and divide. Good luck from Gardenville

  • i have a rhubarb plant thats as tall as my 5 ft fence. I been cutting off the old big leaves right at the main stem. Is that good for the plant? I planted it 4 years ago.
