Okay... I agree that PETA is radical in many ways and that they aren't always honest about what kinds of things they do. But... the girl volunteered to do it, her mother said it was okay. If seeing a 12 year old girl in a small cage bothers you, why doesn't seeing an elephant that is spiked in the ankles or tigers in a tiny cage bother you? In order to do the tricks in a circus an animal needs to be conditioned to prevent them from trying to escape... there's where the cruelty lies.

Hey, the girl's there by choice, because she cares about animal cruelty. I think she (and the parent who gave her consent) is to be commended for caring about something outside herself, and her willingness to endure a little discomfort for an important cause.

@NiceGuyCody You've never seen violence until you've seen them "break" an elephant to obey everything they want it to do. These animals are typically under an extreme amount of pressure and stress behind the scenes and especially during a show.

But they don't show you that. Typical show business anyway. Trust me I know about it and I know about the circus. I don't agree with PETA. I think they go too far. But I can't stand people who protect abusive acts more.

@reimu789 the point isn't to set the animals free because duh they would die in the wild. the point is to not take anymore wild animals captive or take ones from animal sanctuaryies captive just to torture them their whole lives to do a circus, also, to tkae the current animals out of this abusive stressful envoronment and put them in a sanctuary.

so, i don't support peta, but in this instance, the news reporter is all 'and how is this not a cheep trick?' are you kidding me? you just sound stupid, the whole point is to show that animals are kept in bad conditions captive for the circuses just to please the people. that's what we mean by cheep tricks, the girl volunteering and the mother saying it is okay does not equal cheep circus tricks. that makes no sense.
