@SOfly586 It depends on the type of crevasse and at what point of the glacier it resides. If it is at the "river's edge" of the glacier so to speak you may find solid rock because the depth of the glacier is still snow and has not completely formed the viscus ice found at the bottom of a glacier. Most of the time in the "center" of a glacial river you will encounter crevasse that do not really have a defined bottom, but rather become smaller and more dense- youd get stuck before the bottom.

more ice. its called the plastic layer, it doesnt crack like the top layer. under that is bedrock. also it doesnt have to be a huge crack, its often the small ones that kill people.

@zev234 a crevasse is a huge crack in ice or rock thay can be from 30 to 100ft deep. what i want to kow is what is at the bottem of a crevasse?
