This is not a montage or a display of skill of any sort, just an raw and unedited footage of Halo 2 for the PC. Continue down to read my thoughts on the game, coming from an original Xbox owner's perspective.

After Microsoft decided to discontinue the online service for original Xbox titles, I decided I simply couldn't part with Halo 2 forever. Fortunately, a PC version exists. After having to fight against my computer to get it to work with Windows 7, I was finally able to enjoy the upgraded textures and exclusive content found in the PC version.

Coming from a Xbox player's perspective, the PC version looks and feels natural. The Xbox 360 wired controller works with the game seamlessly. You can tell that as the game goes on, I become more and more comfortable with it. This is more due to the fact that I haven't played in such a long time, rather than the feel not being the same.

My only disappointment is the lack of players to be found in the PC version. Although the game is somewhat dated, I was still expecting to see a good amount of people playing, especially after the multiplayer on the Xbox discontinued. While there's certainly enough people to always jump into a game, you may sometimes have to settle for playing something you might quite not enjoy. There's simply not enough players to support every gametype you may hope for. Fortunately, the player-hosted server system works well with the lack of people. Playlists would only divide the players too much.

Overall, I find it extremely enjoyable. The port is true to the real thing, and on top of that, it comes with two extra maps and a map editor (which I still haven't messed with yet) that are exclusive to the PC version. Here's to hoping the PC version will continue to live on, and may this video promote it's existence, because I would really hate to lose the game again.

Gameplay was recorded using FRAPS. Video was edited and encoded using Camtasia Studio 6.

  • This map along w/ last resort is in Halo 3! :D

  • @KMCGamer And then fellow youtubers signed a petition... :D

  • @SkewLT Haha well you do need a good rig for it, but xbox360 graphics arent nearly as nice as PC. Its very unfortunate they made it xbox360 exclusive though, they would have made a lot more sales probably.

  • @KMCGamer Yeah? Damn, then they're assholes. I was pretty sure you need a good rig for it.

  • @SkewLT Nooooo. A lot of 800$+ computers would be able to handle Halo 3. Just look at Crysis, one of the most beautiful games on the PC and probably one of the most demanding. It looks 10x better than halo 3 and halo reach combined.

  • @Shadowabliss That's because most PC gaming rigs can't take the load. Ofc except the 2k$+ PCs...

  • @buXBRYLLEXub I just bought it on amazon for 15 bucks...they have one copy left.

  • where can I buy the game?

  • @2followerhalo No, you can use a 360 controller and it supports it natively and shows the buttons and everything.

  • this is the xbox i saw the x on that button blue button
