even tho that verse doesn't claim a certain thing, doesn't mean it's not true. really poor scholarship. you can't deny that Jesus was crucified, just because it doesn't claim any divinity, doesn't mean it didn't happen, that is completely irrelevant!

I agree with you 100% on what you said most Christians read what they feel relates to them.
