We took a cab to Mactan Island to visit one of Cebu's many guitar stores. We ended up at Guitar Master, and had a nice chat with Ronie. He was so passionate about his guitars, that he kept on playing, showing off the quality of their craft.

  • how much one of it?

  • tag pila ang guitar na senior nga nangka?

  • tag pila diay nang blue na electric guitar??

  • @Babsicaster I was complimenting Filipino guitarists. Anyone who studies classical guitar knows that you don't use a pick. But Americans, emberassingly enough, my people... are too stupid to know that. As a guitarist myself, I know any dope can use a pick, but it takes a skilled artist to play without one. Don't worry... in a few years, America will be the new 'third world' nation, and all the jobs will go to the Philippines. Then who will be laughing?

Who are you pertaining to? I'm a Filipino and I don't even know what you're talking about. This thing has been going on for 2 years already - a user called @gunlak posted that "filipinos are too poor to buy a pick" and I merely replied that it was a retarded statement. He has since deleted that comment.

  • @Babsicaster You mean foreigners are too STUPID TO KNOW that you don't play classical guitar songs WITH a pick. Picks are for people who aren't capable of learning more than one way to strum a guitar.

  • Filipino's are too poor to buy a pick? So if Filipinos are the second highest earning house-hold income race in the United States, what does that make the person who made that statement?

  • @fuzz461 I came to the Philippines with a $1200 Taylor flamenco guitar. I found a flamenco guitar from Inday Celia that totally blew the Taylor away. -Well, it didn't have pickups, but I enjoy the action more than the Taylor so much, I left the Taylor in the Philippines and brought the Inday Celia guitar back with me.

As for the recording, I went to all the guitar factories there. There is a lot of background noise from the street, and the stores don't exactly have high end acoustic tiles.

  • sounds like crap.... unfortunately I have not seen a well made guitar in the P.I. im sure the luthiers are great but the materials they use are no good. the neck cant be tuned correctly and they usually fold when tuned to standard tuning. no truss rods either.
