Native Instruments' Massive synth is a great tool for creating nasty, rocking bass and lead sounds.

In this video Brian demonstrates the basics of using Massive's oscillators, filters, and other features. He also shows how to enhance your Massive sounds using plug-ins like Transformer.

  • I have my synthesiser hooked up via midi and when i click midi learn a turn one of the knobs it does not do anything.

    can you help me out?

  • @Preeny666 what keyboard do you have hooked up to it? There are many variables, so it's hard to know what is causing the problem

  • Damn thank you for actually explaining what each section of the massive vst does I don't think I've come across many tutorials that go in depth while keeping the video time down, really helps with ADD type people like myself. I've noticed youtube is becoming over saturated with how to sound like skrillex tutorials not that I don't like his production style but I'm glad i stumbled upon your tutorials espeically the FM8 tutorials since i know very little about FM synthesis

  • thank you, THANK YOU. Massive is so great for those raw sounds.

  • NIN haha glad he's not forgotten

  • First tutorial where it not only is well produced but sounds great! the rest are all cheezy as shit/.

  • i have to turn the volume up to hear you, then i have to turn the volume WAY up to listen to the sound!

  • Ian Hecox in 10 years.

  • Excellent tutorial, I learned a lot from that. Thank you I really appreciate it man :D

  • The 1dislike thought he was clicking on "dis i like"

  • great tutorial and great sound, i like how you actually explain shit instead of just saying what you do

  • I love this tutorial. so simple and the sound is so satisfying! im sick of tutorials of boring lifeless sounds.
