  • haha, he said "ITF has become at best a demonstration style". I COMPLETELY disagree. ITF is a military style. ITF comprises a real word fighting style. You go on and try WTF style in a cage, real life, or for practical application anywhere outside of a WTF tournament, and you will quickly learn that ITF is still far better for self defense than olympic style.

  • ITF TKD has become at best a demonstration style.

  • Wow these guys are young too ... nice job!

  • U two guys are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!

  • awesomee!!

  • wow this demonstration super cool

  • now im impressed!

  • They used to call this pre-arranged sparring. It is somewhat useful for training but primarily for demonstration (especially when done with this level of acrobatics). It tries to 'demonstrate' all the techniques that normal competition sparring cannot (for obvious reasons). A fun show but not actual fighting (the eternal quest of martial arts training to try and simulate/demonstrate). Today many people think MMA is the closest to fighting. That's laughable but does make an important point..

  • @caribbeanpriceclub I've known these two for years, and have been involved in/around tae kwon-do for 13 years. I've never heard pre-arranged sparring called traditional sparring. Maybe that's just not what we call it at our school. I never meant sparring to mean real world, hand-to-hand combat of any kind. Free form fighting using TKD specific moves, however, was what I was talking about. That you will see, frequently.

  • @chichaikame Traditional sparring, is an ITF taekwondo term, for what's going on in the clip. It's an ITF taekwondo specific technical term, it is not meant to designate real world fighting of the type that occurred thousands of years ago with swords, shields, hand to hand fighting etc.

The type of fighting you are thinking about, i don't know if there is a term for it, I just know that you wont see that in any martial art anywhere.

You may see it on cops though Lol! :)
