Here is the inside of the Radio. For the people who told me via email/pm that this is a Superstar 3900 inside, that it is on ebay now for 2 years. DO NOT BS me, take a look here. The radio can handle 5-20w AM/FM and comes set at 12w where it can sit all the day as runs cold. SSB Power also can be changed to around 30w PEP but also runs nice and cool with the 21-22w PEP that it is set at. Sure all radios have something Uniden with them, this is the same. CW Key, Power Socket and some back end features are same or similar but there is also a nice new board, you have seen it on the video. IT is not old, is it? Now a small mention to those who asked me via PM was this free. NO, i paid for it in hard earned euros. And for those that always write on forums about how the money burns in there pockets for the radio, how they need it now, who sells it, how much and so onwards. I KNOW YOU, when you can have it the case will be wrong colour, the lights you will not like, oh the size is too big. The manual is not in pink, and so on and so on. So, sit quiet and when your wives allow you some pocket money then go see the radio and invest in it if you want too. I like the radio, there are some funny quirks like the terrible bleep, I would add an external s meter socket, Id also add some other bits and pieces, make the radio Multi EU, must be simple with software and the chip has space for it.. This is a new radio and the basis of something special. President JFK2 had a similar display, large and nicely readable and this is the same. And will it sell I am asked?? Well, the dealer who will have it is going to be lucky if the samples are anything like the end product. DO NOT TAKE AWAY things from it, use it as a base for extras inside. Be smart not greedy. Do not short cut for the sake of a few dollars at the factory gate. Qixiang, shìfǒu yǒu kěnéng jiārù ōuméng duō dài diàntái? Gāi xīnpiàn sìhū yǒu kòng jiān, ránhòu chūshòu di suǒyǒu ruǎnjiàn zuòwéi bǎo fèi, shǐ rénmen nénggòu jiě kāi tāmen yǒu shé me. Zhè jiādiàn tái gōngzuò hěn hǎo, dàn xuējiǎn xún hū, shǐyòng cǐ gōngnéng yòng yú bié de diànhuà huò qítā lèisì yīn

  • hey simonthewizard, how do you convert channel for this radio,by PC? I see the Maas DX5000 is coming out Oct. 31 for the european market.

  • @acmaster5959 Not sure what you mean but the radio has software that can be bought extra and connect this to a radio running XP you can change many parameters, include expand channels from 40 to 60 per band. So you can extend from pre programmed 25-28mhz upto 30mhz. Arrange splits for 10m repeaters. All you need is the software and the data cable. Hope that answers it? If not then drop me another line. 73s

  • @simonthewizard Just checking on how to convert the the radio. I didnt catch it in the first time I watch the video on how to convert . Can't wait for this radio !

  • @acmaster5959 Radio either comes 28-30 or export 25-30mhz. If comes just 10m then you need the software and data cable to unlock it. Thats the only way to do it

  • @TheDiddlysquat Not sure, i was only aware it had something like s meter on board, its near the back and in centre of board. Sorry am not home and not any radios so hard to help at the moment

  • @TheDiddlysquat Yes there is a preset labelled for s meter

  • @24nov67 Neither, its Qixiang

  • Who makes the chassis on that? is it ranger or uniden?

  • fez.coldcity.com/ebay/insides.JPG

It's about time someone brought out a radio like this. Seems like the older manufacturers are stuck in their ways just releasing very similar radios. Hopefully this will give them a kick up the backside!

I for one will be getting one.

  • @m0ogy Hi Dave, yep that is what some here, some in UK also are saying that it is identical to radios they have or have had some years before. This is new ideas, new implimentation of some things, not many wires hanging around here and there making a mess. You see the video and you see the board. Space for CTSS options and who knows maybe a multi eu norm?? can also come around of this with SSB the options are there with the software and programming. Voice control?? Now we need wait if RoHS is ok
