Here's a video of a live broadcast with Katie Couric and Andy Pargh, The Gadget Guru for the opening of the Superman Rollercoaster at Six Flags Amusement Park in Valencia California. Also included in this video is the Co-Op segment. Co-Ops are what happens behind the scenes when most of the country is watching the local news breaks.
It is still funny on how Andy was able to put new meaning into "tossing your cookies".

The 2 times that I rode Superman: The Escape, I put both my arms up into the air. It is that fun.

Yeah I know...

@KenJones1990 Superman: The Escape opened up in 1997, Top Thrill Dragster in 2003, and Kingda Ka about a year after that.

Well look at when each ride opened

That launch can get everyone by suprise. It is also hard to believe that this was really big news and that 7 years later, Al Roker would do something similar to this when Revenge Of The Mummy: The Ride opened up at both Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Florida. Thanks for putting the live broadcast of the opening of Superman: The Escape on YouTube.

@atbglenn
You maybe right on that, but remember that we might not be able to have either Top Thrill Dragster or Kingda Ka if it were not for Superman: The Escape (the very first roller coaster to go higher than 400 feet (the ride itself stands at 415 feet))

Kingda Ka blows this ride away. 0 to 128 in 3.5 seconds. Superman the Escape gets to 100 in 7 seconds.
