Finale...Dad came back and collected me. The cars are not in a junkyard, but a private farm. Thanks to Dave, Matt, and a self-proclaimed Simca Junkie, many of the Simca cars have been given new life. Please know that many wonder memories were made and many new friends have been introduced thanks to these amazing little cars. As a final note, the badly mangled cars were the original cars brought home in the late 60s. My brother's car was the one with the "Go Fly a Kite" sticker.
God Bless,
:)

Part V... One other Simca i acquired qas a gray estate wagon. I found it in a junkyard in nice shape except for the middle of the windshield being gone. Upon agreeing on a price, I went home to get dad and the towing gear. When I returned, the yard had an American car sitting atop the wagon. I was P.O'd, but still bought the car. Dad and i towed most of them home in my teenage years. I have many fond memories, including dad going through an intersection, hitting a bump, & me being left to coast.

Part IV... Dad wanted to develop a local, low dollar rental program, with Simca cars as the fleet. As fate would have it, time and resources would not allow this to happen. The Simca collection we amassed was a result of finding a car and getting it for about the price of a part no longer produced. I helped the owner of the checkerboard 1204 with a starter problem in the mid 80s with parts from the fleet. She later left the car at my home with the title and a thank you note.

BAM! His Sapporo nailed my 1204. Dad and I towed it home for parts. My next car was a white 1969 1204 2 door. I drove it for most of my senior year until a guy in a Granada back out of a parking space at school and hit me. I was able to drive the car home. Prior to that, I treated the car like a 4x4, using the hand brake to power slide on Georgia clay (dirt) roads. Following the demise of this 1204, dad found a 1962 Plymouth Belvedere. Dad had hopes of restoring the cars in the 80s...

Part II... Fast forward to 1977 when my older brother found a nice baby blue 1966 Simca 1000. He bought it with lawn mowing money and provided my sister and me a way to school and events. On Friday nights, we would put my sousaphone in the bonnet, my sister and her clarinet in the front passenger seat, and me in the back with my brother's bass drum. We had a blast in that car. In 1981, my first car was a maroon 1969 1204 4 door sedan. The third day I drove it to school a guy did a u-turn and ...

Please allow me to set some fears to rest and tell you a little about the Simca Cemetery... The Simca Cemetery is located a midst the Rust Garden in Deep South Georgia. My father, who passed away in Feb 2010, was a Chrysler service manager in the 60s, when he brought home three wrecked Simca 1000 cars. My mom drove a 1000 on a daily basis. More to come...
Chrysler purchased controlling interest in Simca in 1963. In 1964 they began importing the Simca 1000 into the US to compete with VW and other imports being brought in. They sold under the Simca name until the early 70's. Later the Simca 1204 was renamed the Plymouth Horizon and Dodge Omni and sold in the states. Both were very popular cars here, but not many knew they were Simca's.

Ein Simca 1000 1966 gerettet werden können, denke ich. Ich werde Pick es im Frühjahr und Start Wiederherstellung. Ein paar 1204 sind ebenfalls verwendet, ich glaube.
