@yvettejz10 - I love using props! So often people think that a prop is a crutch or uncool, but really props assist you in moving closer toward a pose and really feeling it in your body without strain, allowing you to build a strong foundation to grow from. So the blocks and straps are definitely your friends. :) And don't forget... upper body strength is one aspect that comes into play in arm balances - the real lift off & lightness occurs when you can strongly tap into your core strength too!

I really was happy that you took it step by step. Especially using the blocks. I am trying to build my upper body strength and this tutorial with the blocks is letting me really believe in myself.

I was lucky enough to have Friday off and attend Corrina's class at West Hartford Yoga. First time ever for me to find ease getting into and staying in these two postures. The transitions in and out of a variety of hip openers during the practice gracefully opened the hips to accept these postures. Thanks to Corrina for a creative and challenging sequence leading to eka hasta bhujasana & bhujapidasana ;-)
