  • Brings memories flooding back. A very sweet time.

  • @staycoolfool There is nothing more valuable than your memories

  • So who originally sang this song in 1951?

  • @imthedorf1964 Tommy Edwards recorded this song in 1951. It was hia first charted hit. Then after he re-recorded "It's All In The Game" and was such a hugh hit in 1958, he re-recorded this song and other one such as "Please Mr Sun" again. The did alright but not near as well as "It's All In The Game".

  • This to me is the best version of them all. Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • @faeryquene Your very welcome, this Tommy's recording of this song always had special meaning for me. A very special girl at the time who lived on the side of a Mountain in Morgantown WV tried to teach me to dance to it.

  • @PhillyC187 This was also my favorited Edwards song. way back in 1959 a girl trird to teach me to dance to this song. That was a lost cause I still have two left feet. But the song I never fotgot.

  • i remember the donnie and marie version from the late late 70's, but it pales compared to this version. thanks for posting it.

  • Fantastic Tommy Edwards!

    His Music was smooth!

Mr Sun, as a favorite, It's all in the Game! I have to say was also a big favorite!

This one was also a GREAT one

  • @markalson1938 I figure that`s not so sad making it to well inside the top 40 back in `58. Don`t forget Billboards rankings were based on record sales and us teeners weren`t buying all the records in `58. The official top 40 charts came from radio stations back when. We teeners phoned in &requested or voted for our top 3 songs & that`s why Sugar Plum (ike Clanton) peaked at no.2 here on Vancouvers CFUN radio. Reason I say that is cause it peaked at no. 95 on theirs(sad). THX

  • I love Tommy, but I just realized, he almost sounds like what Tiger Woods would sound like if he could sing.

  • True class

  • Another of those great haunting songs from the 50's. Probably one of the first records to tell the story of an older man falling in love with a younger girl.. Yes, it's true. Listen to the words, the hidden meaning is in there . Love it. Love has no age barriers. (Been there, done that and certainly got the t shirt! If you love him - go get him. Ignore the "number!") Message for Flakeyokie64...it's available on CD now!
