  • I'm pretty sure that VoiceOver on the St Ivel ad was by Michael Jayston. He played a bad guy on Doctor Who once ...

  • Gold, half the fat with a buttery taste. Good joke!

I remember what the early low-fat spreads were like. The modern recipes are only a little less disgusting.

If butter really tasted like that, I'd never use it!

  • It's that guys voice that does it. He used to do loads of voiceovers and it annoyed the hell out of me. Looking back though, way more tolerable than anything they chuck at us nowadays.!

  • I had forgotten about Sunpat!

  • Oh my goodness that St Ivel advert used to scare me as a child! *shudders*

  • I don't know about Bic razors improving my tennis, in my experience, I had to use toilet roll a little bit more often than usual. I might as well have slashed my face with a carving knife. Mike S.

  • STOP SAYING "THIS"

  • Can't find any November 1985 showings of 'Father Came Too' on Anglia in the Times archive, but doubtless this is still from then ... reliably horrible British Beef ad, of course.
