As part of the celebratory gravy train surrounding the anniversary of Mr. Barries birth, his last resting place has been given the Hollywood treatment. Some adjacent trees have also been butchered. Legend has it that J. M. Barrie eschewed a burial in Westminster Abbey, preferring instead to be buried overlooking the "Wee red toon" that he loved so well....before he moved to England..... The plaque celebrates his accomplishments merely as a playwright but at one time he was also considered to be an author of some repute. The choice of fifestone ( in preference to the local Kirriemuir stone) for this restoration is highly innovative, I must say.
