  • Great stuff, hopefully you guys will be pushing vids out like this for both the CS6 and X100B as well.

One Question though, towards the end of the video whats the name of the finish on the 575 Mark Kiesel is holding, is that Sunset Burst or the new Honey Burst?

  • I'm pretty sure that is Vintage Burst.

  • What's the difference between the SH575 and the SH475?

  • @LFWOL Well, the photo was comparing a LP to a CS...not sure how the CT compares to either...I know it's their "PRS killer" but I don't know anything about the neck. Good to know that it's not angled, though. For some a Tele is their most comfortable guitar...give me 10 minutes, though, and I've got a sore arm and a hand cramp. :-p Something for eveyrone out there.

  • @stlflyguy Check out carvinc hannel.com and search for x1008. Couple good ones. One of them is with the Sh550.

  • @LFWOL Can be had with teh Bigsby tremolo.

  • @LFWOL Try this url ht tp: / /tiny url. com /3s4cdnf

You said you had a C6, but I don't know if it was the CS6 or the C66. The CS6 does have a tilt-back neck which is shown in the photo in the above link. The C66 is a bolt-on strat-allike which doesn't come with a tilt-back neck...because neither do any of the guitars it is based on.

  • @LFWOL The photo is there (take out all of the "---")

Carvin's haven't come with comp rad since the early 90s. Now they come with 10 12 14 or 20. A bridge can't have a "compound radius." Your nut may have been a fluke. My bandmate has 2 Carvins, one has a lock nut and the other doesn't; the locking nut is "inset" into the first fret's space so that the folcrum of the nut lines up. it's installed about 1/16th in.

  • @LFWOL My CS6 has a slight neck angle. I actually dislike how high Gibson LP's need to have the bridge. It's actually not that big of a difference. Check out this comparison photo (take out the spaces in this url): ht tp:// i124.photobucket. com/albums /p37/spudmunkey/Untitled-2 .jpg Also, LPs can have issues with their tall posts warping over time. That is eliminated by having the bridge lower to the body.

  • @carvinguitars I have to agree. I ran with all sorts of Gibson and Hamer guitars for years but it wasn't until I strapped on my CS4 Goldtop and everything suddenly felt right. The neck angle had been the problem - I also think that the neck profile of the Carvin is far more amenable, certainly the ebony fretboard is effortless to play on.

I tried a lot of modern Les Pauls and came away disapointed before going with the CS4 - Carvin really have it nailed.
