I have viewed this interview several times. It is truly quite gripping, as you view the man and the fact that he truly misses singing. What a TENOR.

@flaze3 Yes, indeed! "The World's Great Love Songs" album of his is a testament to that! On first hearing they can sound 'shouted' but later on you realize that a huge, dramatic voice such as his could not do them otherwise. somehow I doubt that any lady (esp) could resist him!!

@flaze3 ...and the occasional part of an opera when called for, as well. In my listening, it seems as if he had to learn to sing differently for the studio -- though why he thought he might not be heard in the house I don't understand...!! The voice may not always have been beautiful but surely his artistry and musicianship were unassailable!!

He sounds like a nice guy. I always thought he was a big shouter, but of course there is a lot more going on behind the scenes that we don't realise. And actually I have heard some songs which he has sung very poignantly
