wen the judge is between the withers head, be on the other side, wen he is between the withers and his rear, be on the SAME SIDE, thats what ive been told by 3 diff trainers, u can also watch ppl at world show videos to get a look at how they stand..have fun showin

@tmustang94 yes but thats for showmanship, not halter. halter you are always on the opposite side, showmanship "quartering" you will be on the same side when he passes the rump and move back when he gets to the wither :)

I'm doing halter class pretty soon, and just wanted to know. Are you suppose to stay on the same side as the judges, and if not when are you suppost to be on the other side.

Hi, your always supposed to be on the opposite side of the judge, so whenever the judge passes around the rump of your horse, move to the other side :)
