Actually they powder coated the cases silver to make the 09 look like the knuckleheads from the 50's

the 09 Street Bob with silver engine is the only year ever as they went back to black. Another reason to keep the 09, it's a collector thing now :D

Because the pre 09 models sold so well they want you to spend money on it to change it or buy a night train haha!..my two cents worth.

Why did'nt Harley leave the bottom of engine and gearbox black?It would have looked so much better.
