This video details Jordan's early aerial career (1984 - 1993), his 2nd coming mastery of the game (1995 - 1998), and his final return where his physical skills had largely declined, but his fundamentals remained sound, allowing him to score 20+ppg as a 38-40yr old. And a record 50+pts as a 38yr old and 43pts as a 40yr old.

The man was simply a basketball beast.

There are no words. There are probably athletes now with more "hops"/higher verticals. The dunks in dunk contests have got more creative. But Jordan's dunks are just so graceful. He seemingly stays in the air so much longer than even ppl that might jump "higher". His moves aren't jerkey, but smooth and elegant and he gets so much accomplished in the air. And his "in game" dunks were just as show stopping as a dunk contest.

@disizdalife Jordan had a 48" vertical. In comparison, Vince Carter's vertical is around 44", Lebron around 46", and Kobe around 36".

That jumping ability, plus his supreme body control, is what allowed him to play so gracefully in the air. It was truly art.
