  • I much prefer the Nicholas Payton version of this song from the album Dear Louis, but the band is fire. Although, the Rhythm section is either paying tribute to the Dear Louis version during the tenor solo, or the Dear Louis version to this version. Can't remember when Dear Louis was recorded, but both versions do a similar thing during the tenor solo. Big jazzy pedal point

  • @mulletchuck I much prefer the Louis Armstrong version of this song from both Dear Louis and this video.

  • who is the old guy that looks like Harry Carrey on the alto shaped soprano sax?

  • @1979saxman That is the great Bob Wilber

  • I love the first time the full band comes in, when that man says "oh it's not tight like that" Immediately thereafter, it's tight like that

  • wynton does a damn good jobbb

  • drummer is hilarious

  • 凄すぎる!!

  • Now this is what I'm talkin bout!!!

  • Amazing! I agree with you kingoliver, the original is definitely the best. Wynton did a great job staying on the theme of Louis' solo though, and tore it up overall. I had the pleasure of seeing the LCJO a couple weeks ago at the Hollywood Bowl, but unfortunately they didn't include this gem.

They did do "Moody's mood for love" though, which was classic.

  • It's Lucien Barbarin on the trombone
