My personal take on continuing the story from the Ayumi Hamasaki "Surreal" video. The beach scenes were shot in the exact same location as the original Ayumi video, however as you can see the boat has seen better days (and the video reflects that with the dark theme). Shot entirely with HD cameras (1080i), and the inside location shots used the SGpro 35mm adapter. All scenes color corrected with Magic Bullet.

  • Where was this located? The shipwreck is really beautiful.

  • The location is at Coosbay, OR. There is a sign for the shipwreck off of the main road that goes there but the road is very soft sand and only dune buggies and similar vehicles can access the coast where the ship is...the place is extremely remote.

  • you've got some vignetting there! You didn't calibrate the device properly.

  • Thanks for the tip but the vignetting was put there on purpose. ;) (it was a post effect)

  • I love the look of the SGPro. I have compared it with Letus, M2 Redrock and Brevis, but to me this seems like a clear winner. I'm planning on using one with my XH A1 (HD) camera too.

Is it easy to essamble and calibrate? How much does it cost?

Congrats on this video. Real smooth moves there. Did you use a dolly in the living room?

  • Oh yes, the SGPro is very easy to calibrate and there really isn't any assembly at all. It cost me about $800. As far as the living room goes, yes I used a dolly that I made myself.
