Jesus took authority over demons and commanded them to come out, and they DID. Jesus gave authority to His disciples to discern and command demons to either come out, or command demons to leave the one they were oppressing, and they DID. Demons havent left the scene and their power has not diminished to oppress people. Jesus expects His disciples TODAY to do what His disciples did when the Church first began: Discern the presence and operation of demons, and take authority over them by releasing God's power into the situation until the oppressed person is freed. Thank God for doctors and modern medicine! What would we do without them? They too are a gift from God to humanity.
