not remotely...he holds his pick completely differently, mutes the strings completely differently, does not angle the pick and uses a bit of hybrid picking (things Paul certainly is not known for..) The only thing technique wise that they have in common is that they both pick from the wrist...but then again so do 90% of guitar players so uh yeah...not sure why you would say that.

His come from their LA custom shop... but Ibanez did release a maple neck version of the 1527, which is on their site. Pretty nice -- but I think they should have matched the headstock to the body color.
