Common alternative fuels include bio diesel, butanol, ethanol, chemically stored electricity (batteries and fuel cells), methane, natural gas, wood, hydrogen, vegetable oil, biomass, and peanut oil. The term "alternative fuels" usually refers to a source of which energy is renewable. When we say renewable energy it is the energy from renewable sources like wind power, geothermal power, solar power, tidal power, hydro power or thermal depolymerization. There is growing social interest, and an economic and political need for the expansion of alternative fuel sources. This is due to general concerns of sustainability, environmental, economic, and geopolitical reasons. There are two major concerns that are that of rising cost of fuels derived from fossils caused by an era of growing energy usage and of the crisis of global warming.

@gassavingdevices G'day. Nice clip. As it turns out, theres a correctable- defect in the design of Normal Road Vehicles. Instead of burning fuel to recharge the battery after a day parked, sulphating & feeding Static Systems... Fit a streamlined Solar Panel. It works..! 5-25 litres/Wk/car.
Search 'sunfoil', the Short-Talk clip's best entrypoint to a suite of videos. Nothing for sale. Open source, DIY. Enjoy ! (2 giggle, search 'solar thermal ramjet'). Ciao.

biofuel from food? butenol? hydrocarbons shouldnt be burned (fossil fuels my ass)what happened to coskata and geothermal energy promises. i am so sick of big money phoquing up our 'progress'. THE INDUSTRY IS SKITZOOPHRENIC!! you need to make up your minds, after 40 years plus of flinging bullshot,we could have used the tonnage to burn by now.

The oil will run out soon, gas and coal will follow the same destiny. Ignorant people will find themselves in trouble. The economy of the world requires insane amounts of energy in form of hydrocarbon based fuels. The only solution is bio diesel from algae. It gives the more yield than any other alternative, and it does not require fertile land and heavy machinery. Unfortunately corn based ethanol and oil from seeds are lobbied hard to keep aging oil industry busy.

A lot of these are out of the question. You can't grow crops just to put it in the tank, the demand would be much higher than supplies and people would starve. And it still requires a lot of oil to produce thinks like ethanol. Solar and wind fluctuate, and therefore will not work with our grid and will not provide anything other than a more expensive bill. We dammed all the rivers that will provide use with power.
