I wouldn't worry so much about how long a rendering takes you. I would really like to see you spend more time on the actual design. looking at proportions, simplifying the surfaces, getting the graphic breakups correct. and then you'll get a much stronger end result out of it. try to not use so many paths as well, not only do they slow you down, but the suck all of the emotion out of a rendering. it will really improve your work. Hope that helps, keep it up and you'll get there someday.

@eitch8 its would be wayyyy to long. if u want to find out about these techniques, check out cardesignnews . com and carbodydesign . com . they both have tutorial sections with work by the top dogs in the business
