Beginning the afternoon run on a beautiful spring day. The bus is a 1999 International with an Amtran body. Power is by the DT466 and an Allison 4 speed automatic.

  • Does this system have ICs from 2000-2002. I know Baltimore County purchased 1999 Amtran/Internationals and in 2002 they purchased IC CEs. The only difference between the 99 Amtrans and 02 ICs are the windshield. Dash/Instrument panel. Drivers window. Entry door and driver seat and the rest of the bus looks like the 99 Amtrans. And the 03 ICs look like the 02s except with redesigned upper side walls and the International Logo above the drivers window and front door.

  • @MrWill1985 My current bus is a 2002. These are very different from a 1999. Besides the interior differences they have a much updated engine management system(DT466) and an Allison 5 speed auto instead of a four speed. The suspension is also updated giving the '02 a much better ride. I miss my '99 though.

  • what county

  • @09ICCE200 Jefferson County.

  • Are you all required to do a pre-trip as well as a post-trip inspection?

  • I wish I could take videos of my run! I would be very fired, though. My place doesn't let us film or take pictures on the lot or on the buses. Really cool to see someone uploading this kind of thing.

  • @yellowbusguy What year were you switched to the 02 IC from the 99 Amtran? I know where I went to school drivers had their buses for 3-4 years. Sometimes more sometimes less and some cases Ive seen drivers who had 99 Amtrans when they were new get ICs in 2002 and some got new ICs in 2003. They got 2 orders of ICs in a row during that time. One order in 2002 and one in 2003.

  • @yellowbusguy Ive noticed the 02 Internationals came with DT466 instead of T444E. And when Baltimore County purchased the IC in 2002 at first I thought I saw a 99 Amtran waiting at a train crossing until I saw the number started with 54 instead of 53 as all of the 99 Amtrans were numbered in the 53s. I think it was 5307-5361 for the 99 Amtrans and the 02 ICs 5433-5513 but Im not 100% sure. Ive never seen the Roster listing for this school system. And I think 5514 is the start of the 03 order.

  • Like one of the buses in my school

  • @Deafboyasian That bus was a International/Amtran, 1999 model.

  • i find freight liner is a good product

  • If we had airhorns there would be many deaf car drivers in our area.
