I cut my teeth recording on one of these. Boy how that pot would have been useful as a standard feature! My friend wore out the motor or the belt on the old rackmounted tascam 8 track with that speed control.

By law, every cassette tape needs a speed control. ;-) nice!

I just bought last week for a whopping sum of $5 the identical TASCAM Porta02 MiniStudio but with one thing missing from the one shown here: the speed control between the power light and the tape counter, so there were actually (2) models sold, one with and one without the tape counter; thanks a million for posting, beautiful little blue machine, only TASCAM could do a little studio like this one.
