It's 25 years since Tina Plakinger performed this classic Jeffrey Daniel-influenced routine and it still rates as one of my favourites.
Tina was one of the old school women bodybuilders from the 70s and early 80s, seen here at the same Olympia where the much more muscular Australian woman Bev Francis (briefly seen pumping up) changed everything. Bev lost the comp but won the audience, and so took women's bodybuilding away from the beauty pageant towards muscle for muscle's sake. In so doing she crapped all over the Weider's money-spinning vision for the future of women's bodybuilding - something for which she was never forgiven.
Pity about the poor audio and video quality, but it's taken from an ancient VHS tape. For those that want clear audio, you need to find Skipworth & Turner's "Thinking About Your Love" (1985).

She was featured in a book on drugs in sports.
She was quoted as saying" I threw my husband against the door and hit him again and again" But she beat her steroid habit. Is she still alive?
