Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor (2008) (Nintendo DS) (Atlus)

The latest Megaten game is a tactical JRPG for the DS called "Megami Ibunroku: Devil Survivor". I hear an English version is forthcoming, and with all the mainstream attention surrounding "Persona 3" & 4 as well as the recent success of quirky DS RPGs such as "The World Ends With You" it's not exactly surprising that Atlus has decided to release MIDS outside Japan as well.

In any case, this short video shows the flashy introductory sequence from the Japanese version of the game as well as the first battle. The game's overall style resembles the latest Persona games (as well as the TWEWY) but the tactical JRPG element - while quite familiar in its own right - is certainly not something you see everyday in a Megaten game. Can't say much else about this game, but the nice graphics, great soundtrack and the turn-based combat is enough to get me interested...

Yes, the English version (called Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor) was released in the US at the end of June.
