Aerial video shot with Sony Webbie HD Camcorder mounted on a dual-engine electric rc airplane (modified Simple Stick). Filmed on a gusty day at sunset. Note the excellent depth of focus and high-definition image. Frame freezes hold up well (try the pause button). Needs a lens shade to reduce glare, maybe a polarized filter too. Excellent size and weight for amateur r/c video at low cost. The swivel camera head makes it very easy to select or change the camera angle before each flight, or could even be rigged with a servo to change the angle in flight.

  • Did you edit this video through another program like Sony Vegas or WMM, or did you edit it through the software provided? I'm thinking about getting this camera, but I use Sony Vegas to edit my footage, and I heard that the files from this camera are in MP4 format, not WMV. Help?

  • I edited it with Cyberlink Power Director 7. It can handle the high-definition video codecs and they also have a new version 8 now, though I have not upgraded yet. Pinnacle Studio 12 will also handle it. I upload in WMV 9 HD Standard format from Power Director.

  • Hey man this is incredible! This footage you got is absolutely amazing! My camera was 400 dollars and the quality is absolutely horrible. I was wondering what the exact model of the camera you have is and how much it costs, because that is mindblowing! Also I was wondering about the RC airplane, what model is that, and is it affordable?

  • Thank you. It is a Sony MHS-PM1 and retails for about $150. The plane I used for this video was the Simple Stick (see my Triple Threat video minus the motor on the nose of the airplane). You can velcro this camera on any rc airplane that can handle the added weight, provide an unobstructed view for the camera and preferably fly slow and stable. The lowest-cost option would be something like a GWS Slow Stick. Crashing a plane with a camera attached is not cheap though, so get some training.

  • @4:45 looks like a UFO

  • if i was on a mountain about 10,000 feet up would this plane take off? or would it go crashing down?

  • was it shot in 1080?

was it shot in landscape mode?

does your bat stay white when full, yet page 30 of manual says black is full?

    error in manual?

  • cool vid good work nice plane and camera got the same 1 it is sweet

  • beautiful ,hopefully Sony makes a newer model without the 25 minute limit on straight recording time
