Bullpups tend to have mushy triggers because of the long link to the sear. That's not good for precision control on a sniper rifle. No drop-in Geissel match grade triggers for these bullpups. Also, keep in mind that in a bullpup, the bolt-chamber action will be literally pressed against your face. Right, have you seen these Youtube videos of rifle misfires where the gun receiver explodes, usually because of some ammunition defect or bolt-chamber misfeed?
@NovaScotiaNewfie Not really, or rather it doesn't say anything about the rifle itself. Right now from governments from the municipal to federal level are all strapped for cash, and have more bills than money. They can't afford to buy expensive weapons or hire personnel to train officers/troops to use them. When you can buy a handful of R700s for the same price, without having to train/retrain personnel, it's fiscally a better decision to stick with what you've got.
@vrmgi the "mushy" trigger is true for the old rifles, not very much in modern versions!!
