The Philadelphia Police Department is looking to identify the suspect who robbed A-Mobile cellular store in Lawndale.
On December 31, 2013, at 1:19 pm, 2nd District officers responded to a robbery at A-Mobile located at 6347 Rising Sun Avenue. Once on location two employees stated an unknown male wearing a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up and appeared to be hiding a handgun in his sleeve and displaying brass knuckles, entered the store demanding money and cell phones. Once inside the suspect walked behind the counter and grabbed one of the employees by the neck. The suspect then handed the employee a brown bag demanding the employee to open the cash register and put the money in the bag. After placing the money in the bag the suspect then demanded the employee to open the display case and fill the bag with cell phones. The suspect then began striking the complainant several times in the back of the head with an unknown object. While striking the complainant, the complainant then grabbed offender's hand and began to struggle with the suspect. The suspect then fled the store on foot and was last seen east on Levick Street. Detectives were able to located surveillance video which depicted a person of interest at another cell phone store on Rising Sun Avenue. The witness viewed this video and is believed to be the same person to have robbed the A-Mobile located at 6347 Rising Sun Avenue.
Suspect Description: Black male, thin build, wearing a black jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, and black pants. Suspect was wearing brass knuckles and acted as if he was armed with a handgun.
